March Mayhem: Best Laid Plans

March Mayhem: All Bendy

Warning: Graphic Car Crash Death Photos: "In the Pines"

Close-up photographs of car crash victims, except in a few very rare cases, are seldom shown publicly—especially in this country.

In other countries such as Brazil, however, police reports are seemingly much more lenient regarding the release of such graphic car-crash pics .

It's strange how, here in North America, the topic of death, more specifically, photographs of death, are treated with a taboo much the same as hardcore pornography.

In fact, there was a 1996 film called "Crash" directed by the famous movie director David Cronenberg which explored a fictional sub-culture of humans who were sexually aroused by the violence and death of car-crash victims. Food for thought.

That being said, a horrific car wreck took place Wednesday in Brazil near a construction site which was said to be the future location of a new Brazilian University, UFFS (University Federal Southern Frontier in Laranjeiras do Sul / PR.)

The victim, Ronaldo Junior Mattana, aged 25, who was driving a lightweight Celtic Mitsubishi perhaps a bit too fast and carelessly, apparently went airborne after hitting a slippery spot.

The car then flipped numerous times before ending up wrapped around a tree with the deceased driver, Mattana, still hanging on by his seat-belt.

Home at the time of the accident, an elderly man, aged 72, seen in the photo below, lived only a few feet away in a shack near the accident site. The 'ol-timer narrowly missed becoming the second victim.

March Mayhem: 3 Way

March Mayhem: It's A Bet

So I decided that I'd been neglecting my girls out there.
And I figured a challenge was in order.
I now bring you... March Mayhem!

Last time I did something like this it was 24 caps in 24 hours.
Not all great, but all had their own merits.
This time, I have around 30 caps to roll out.
All leading up to a very special hypno-vid that's a bit different.

Ready? Set? Go!

Fight over Violent Video game causes Murder and Dismemberment: Hacksaw Bloodbath:

It's hard to believe that all this blood and carnage could have began over video game borrowing—but that is exactly the case.

Kids in Velha Central, a town not far from Blumenau in Medio Vale, Santa Catarina State in southern Brazil, take their video game playing very seriously it seems.

As the story goes, two young Brazilian buddies, 12-year-old Gabriel Kuhn, and his friend 16-year-old Daniel Petry, were engaged in a friendly computer game called Tibia.

Suddenly, the younger boy, Kuhn, ran out of money—and this is where the plot thickens, so they say.

The trouble began when Khun then decided to ask his older friend Petra for a short-term loan consisting of 20,000 Tibia, from his account, so he could keep playing.

Kuhn promised to return-the money as soon as possible. So his friend Petry agreed to the loan and the money was transferred.

However, before long, the short-term loan suddenly turned into a long term loan, and soon Kuhn failed to transfer any of the funds back to Petry’s account at all.

Petry, needless to say, was-livid.

So much so in fact that he grabbed a hand-saw used for cutting wood, headed to young Khun's house and first strangled Khun, then, in a failed attempt to conceal the body by dismembering him in the corridor, created a gorey and horrific mess.

Murphy's law tells us that if something can go wrong it will go wrong and at the worst possible time. In a failed attempt to conceal the body, the worst of all possible scenarios suddenly happened, Khun's mother arrived home.

The distraught mother, after seeing her sons body parts strewn all over the hall-way, had to be sedated and taken to the hospital.

Warning Graphic Shotgun Blast to the Face via Drive-by Murder

According to credible sources, "Garanhuns is a city in the Brazilian state of Pernambuco."

Located in the Borborema Plateau, the town is well-known for having pleasant weather, especially during the winter months.

That would certainly make sense, and provide a beautful backdrop as well as tie in nicely to our next true crime story regarding the murder of Adalcindo Feitosa age 66, who was doing nothing that seemed the slightest bit out of the ordinary.

One year past retirement age, Feitosa was merely enjoying the day, minding his own business, while relaxing in his favortite lawn chair under the shade of his favorite tree.

Nonetheless, if you happen to be one of those unfortunate people who have a history of violence, the black hounds of hell will sniff you out, no matter where you're hiding.

The metaphoric black hounds in this case were the two men who drove up on Feitosa in a silver colored vehicle carrying two fully-loaded 12-guage shotguns.

They easily spotted their prey, Feitosa, who was partially asleep in his comfy lawn chair.

They stalked him slowly, approaching him stealthily and gently, and when the moment was just right, they pulled their triggers, riddling his chest and facial area with numerous holes made from buck-shot—the plastic 'wadding' from inside the gun can also be seen in one of the photos.

As quick as it happened it was over in the same instant. With a squeal of rubber the pair of gunmen then fled the scene.

Warning Death Photos: Dumping Site Of a Serial Killer

A police task force in a remote area of Maceió—which is the capital and the largest city of the coastal state of Alagoas, Brazil—say they have found two more bodies in a sugarcane field. An area they say that is well-known to police as a "Dumping Site" for serial killers.

The partially nude bodies of a man and woman believed to be in their late 30's both had been shot, and strangled and had evidence of male semen on their pants and near their genital areas, evidence, police say, which could very well belong to the killer.

Found on the morning of Friday, February 22, police say the likely time of death was late Thursday night.

No identification was given regarding the female victim, however the male's name was given as: Jose Edmilson Alves dos Santos, age 39.

Any information leading to the arrest of the individual responsible should be directed to a hot line by calling 181. The plaintiffs need not identify.

Warning Graphic Crime: Woman Given the Coupe de Grace

According to sources, Mexico is bordered on the north by the United States of America; on the south and west by the Pacific Ocean; on the southeast by Guatemala, Belize, and the Caribbean Sea; and on the east by the Gulf of Mexico.

Needless to say, the warm breezes from the first rays of a beautiful Mexican day, with it's kaleidoscope of colors are a welcomed sight in many towns along the coast line,

The warmth emulating from natures first sun-rays of the day, no matter how dim, feel tremendous upon the trembling bodies of police investigators. Bodies which have likely been up all night attempting to solve crime while shivering from the cool night air.

This type of powerful solar Sundays of which I speak, will no-doubt demand attention from almost anything in its path. Anything, I superpose, even dead bodies hinged to rocks an crevices..which seem to never ever want to let go,

The more Horrific the homicides—the more work it takes to solve it.

Strange as it may seem not many homicide have happened during a full-moon. Almost all Brutal murders thrive thrive under the darkness and cover of what seems norm.

Such was the case on February 23, 2013, when the early morning light etched it's way along the Mexican streets of Colonia Popotla, and exposed the body of a 25-year old female-victim.

She had been not dead for long, according to her neighbors, as they told how she was calling out for help in morbid pain-filled distress.

This yelling and screaming may have been what had caused her killers to administer the coup de grâce.

The life ending blow, used too shut her up for for good, was highly effective

It's Not Vacation Unless I'm Working!

Last week my in-laws treated Steve and me to an all-inclusive beach vacation with them in the Bahamas. We stayed at the Sandals Royal Bahamian in Nassau, which includes lots of water sports, restaurants, drinks all day (not that I took advantage of that!), and even an off-shore private island. Of course, I couldn't stand the thought of spending five days without painting, so I brought my pochade box and supplies along with me. I managed to do a little bit of plein air painting almost every day we were there. There was something incredibly freeing about standing there in a bathing suit, barefoot in the sand, doing what I love the most. :-)

Finished painting (about 1 1/2 hours) of rocks and waves along the offshore island at the resort.
8x8" - oil on panel

Later my father-in-law even posed for one of my paintings. You may remember him from one of my portrait sketches a couple of years ago... click HERE to view that one.

Below is a 15-minute quick sketch of one of our many little beach visitors. :-) 5x4" - oil on linen glued to panel.

On our last day there, I got up early to paint the sunrise. The colors weren't as exciting as I hoped they'd be, but I still enjoyed the process of watching the clouds and colors evolve with the rising sun.

Yep, it's just not vacation unless I'm working. I love my job!

Warning: Graphic Decapitation Photo: VP Joe Biden's 12-Guage Shotgun

Last week, the second most powerful man in the world, United States Vice President Joe Biden, in an online interview, suggested getting rid of all of your unpractical 'AR' assault weapons.

To some, Biden's statement was akin to blasphemy. A statement which served only to further feed the monstrous egos and mental illnesses of the Rambo-type-gun-nuts who exist out there.

To other more-rational gun-owners however, the Veep's suggestion made perfect sense.

The gun that VP Biden does endorse, for lack of a better word, is the one I would pick as the most practical of all hunting and protection weapons—and the one which is my personal all-time favorite.

If sawed-off, it's the wondrous holy-grail of all close-quarters scatter-guns—the almighty 12-gauge shotgun.

For an up-close and personal look at the damage a load of shot can do to the human cranium and the delicate brain matter beneath, look no further than the below photo of 21 year-old Matthew Anacleto Lucas Pereira.

Pereira, this past week, had the top of his head blown clean-off by rival drug dealers he was involved with near Maceió—the capital and the largest city in Alagoas, Brazil.

Bottom line: the 12-guage shotgun makes for the best home-protection on the market.

You can also use a 20 gauge, 16 gauge, or the lighter 4.10 gauge—which is a quarter of the size of it's heaviest big sister, the cannon-like 10-guage.

Whether you're killing sea-birds or up-land prey using "number six shot" or your shotgun is loaded with solid bullets called 'rifled-slugs' for killing big game, my suggestion is to keep a shotgun on hand or hidden under your bed at all times.
