Fight Video - UFC 153: Dana White: "I will make Anderson Silva say 'Yes, Yes, Yes' to Bones Jones Fight

"I'm not the best. I just believe that I can do things that people think are impossible."

Those were the words of the elite pound-for-pound middleweight superstar, Anderson 'The Spider' Silva after once again proving his dominance in front of his hometown Brazilian fans by stopping 205-pound challenger Stephan Bonnar at UFC 153 in Rio De Janiero.

Bonnar was a huge underdog, but he came prepared. And, with a pregnant wife at home, 'The American Psycho' Bonnar had every intention of becoming a 'game changer' by delivering a thrilling upset victory.

Spider-Silva is no ordinary fighter however.

The current middleweight champion, Spider's kickboxing is the best in the world. And he has the ability to use every part of his body as a fight-stopping lethal weapon.

Spider seemed to want Bonnar to come forward in the first part of round one and show him something. A 'feeling out' round perhaps.

That, for the most part, didn't happen.

The seconds ticked away and the ending of round one was much different. Silva seemed as if he had been bored during the first stanza and was now ready for business. The spider attacked his prey.

A crowd thrilling spinning back-kick was followed by driving his knee into Bonnar's chest and the 'American Psycho' hit the canvas...and with the final coup-de-gras—a few more accurate punches, Bonnar was done.

The official time of Spider's knockout win was 4:40 of the opening round, which improved Silva's long-running UFC-record win streak to 16.

The downside of all this, if there is any, will be the age-old question, being: "who's next for the aging 37-year-old Spider?"

Silva, during the post-fight-press-conference video posted below, was once again faced with questions regarding the man who the consensus of fans, including President Dana White, feel Spider should fight next—205 champ, Jon 'Bones' Jones.

Boss White says he wants to negotiate with Silva:

"Anderson Silva says 'no, no, no' [to Jones bout] but I know the money that fight would make—and so after I talk to him he'll be saying 'Yes, Yes, Yes!'

"I will fly down here [Brazil] and lock myself in a room with Anderson, Jones, and his manager and I guarantee you that I will make that fight happen," said White.

Only time will tell. Stay tuned.

UFC-153 RIO: Anderson 'The Spider' Silva Vs. Stephan 'The American Psycho' Bonnar

According to mmafighting.com the next fight involving the greatest pound-for-pound cagefighter in the world, 37-year-old, São Paulo, Brazil, native and current UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson 'The Spider' Silva will be against the UFC's company/franchise fighter, Stephan 'American Psycho' Bonnar (14-7).

The bout will be the main attraction at UFC 153 and will illuminate on October 13 from the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Bonnar is no 'Joke.'

Known in the UFC as the 'The American Psycho' the 35 year-old Munster, Indiana, born cagefighter, Bonnar, is not-only a Chicago Golden Gloves boxer, and a black-belt in both Taekwondo, and Brazilian Jujitsu, but he's also been mentored by the highly-notable and legendary 9th degree red-belt BJJ Master, Carlson Gracie Sr.

Bonnar has been in there with some great fighters in the past, such as Jon Jones and Lyoto Machida.

However, he's yet to meet the absolute best...until now.

Additionally, Silva will once again venture up one weight-class to 205-pounds to face Bonnar.

Notably, the last time Silva, 32-4, tested the deeper waters of 205-pounds it was to give former light-heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin a first-round boxing lesson at UFC 101 on August 8, 2009.

Before Griffin's embarrassing first round ass-kicking, there was another foray into light-heavyweight for Spider.

Five-long-years ago at UFN 14, Silva gave James Irvin who—even though he tested positive for banned-substances post fight— a woodshed-style-whupping, also in the very-first round.

Bonner comes to fight. We know that about him.

The first Griffin vs. Bonnar—due to the hunger-factor and how evenly matched they were—is now a UFC cult-classic. A 'war of attrition' that saw both men awarded a UFC contract after appearing on "The Ultimate Fighter 1 Finale," on April 9, 2005.

Below is a video of the 'tough as nails' Bonnar facing-off against Spider-Silva's long-time friend and fellow 'Blackhouse' training-partner, 'The Dragon' Machida—it's also a classic.

Stay tuned.

UFC NEWS: Jon Jones Not Concerned Vs. Big Game Hunter, Dan Henderson

Make no mistake, Dan Henderson is a notorious big-game Hunter.

With his linage being the 'Walla Walla' aka 'many waters' tribe of the northern United States, Henderson also has the bloodthirstiness necessary to finish his fights.

Never was this aforementioned fact more evident, than when he faced the brawling-British-cage-fighter Michael Bisping on July 11, 2009, at UFC 100.

Bisping, not unlike a dumb but unsuspecting mule-deer or a stubborn big-horned sheep, had avoided being hit by stray bullets in the opening round.

However, Bisping, after surviving the first round of action, failed to heed the words of his wise corner-man during the break.

As a result, the Wales native, known in fight circles as 'The Count,' foolhardily entered the second round against 'Hendo' with his chin placed squarely in the cross-hairs of Hendo's fully loaded—and most lethal weapon—overhand right..aka the 'H' Bomb.

We all know what happened next. And even though Bisping was already in dreamland from the first jolt to the jaw, Hendo, as if he was deep in the Forest, moving in on a wounded animal, then applied the final  coup-d-gras.

Suffice it to say that, as evidenced from his best wins so far, against an obviously severely overrated Fedor Emelianenko, and, of course, Bisping, it's quite clear that this UFC light heavyweight contender, Henderson, is nothing more than a 'one trick pony' so to speak.

Nonetheless, Henderson has somehow survived in an era where well-rounded-ness is now taking precedence over the worn-out and obsolete skills of old. .

None of what I have written in the paragraphs above is 'News' to Henderson's next opponent.

The current UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones can see Henderson and his highly broadcasted lethal H-Bomb coming from miles away. Thus, he will be more than ready for it, and likely have lots of time to duck and counter Henderson's one and only weapon with his own right-hand-bomb:

“No, I’m not worried about the ‘H-Bomb," said Jones on this week’s edition of MMA Uncensored.

“I fought Ryan Bader. He had an amazing overhand right. I think he won The Ultimate Fighter with that overhand right. Rashad Evans ended up knocking out Chuck Liddell with his overhand right," said Jones confidently.

"Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua had an awesome overhand right. I’m just not worried about it. It’s a single technique that I've prepared for, extensively,”stated the champ." ’Hendo’ actually has a good left hook, as well, but I’m not worried about single strikes."

Jones speaks the truth. Neither Rua, Lyoto Machida, Rampage Jackson, or most recently, Rashad Evans, could so much as lay a glove on him.

“You know, I have this thing where I don’t like to rush. I definitely don’t want to ever lose a fight by getting caught by a wild punch,” explained Jones.

“There was a scenario where, Eddie Alvarez*, I think that’s who it was, where he like body shotted this one guy, then he ran up to him to try and finish the fight, and the last thing the guy hit him with, his last shot, and it ended up knocking out Alvarez."

"I think that’s who it was. That haunted me. I would never want something like that to happen to me. So, what I do is, I take my time and realize that I have 25 minutes to methodically pick someone apart.”

Jones, at a mere 24 years of age, is fast becoming one of the greatest cagefighters on the planet.

There's no doubt whatsoever, in this writer's mind, who that someone Jones speaks of (above) will be.
My prediction here, however unpopular, is that Jones will prove to be far too tough of a game-animal for any of Henderson's high-caliber, yet single-shot weaponry.

Stay tuned.

UFC 145: Odds for Suga-Rashad Evans to Defeat Champion Bones-Jones not so Sweet

The recent Rashad Evans vs. Phil Davis match-up—which took place last Saturday night at UFC on Fox 2—was indeed, not surprisingly, the exact type of wrestling-styled-hug-fest that most fans and experts had predicted.. and despise.

Thankfully, the event was " virtually " free of charge on FOX TV.

A boring hug-fest—rather than a scintillating-slug-fest—is not the type of exhibition that cage-fighting-fans will pay to see.

Truly, it takes exceedingly more action than the Evans vs. Davis offering this past weekend to convince us 'Hardcore ' fans to reach down deep into our shallow pockets and pull-out the hard-earned 50 dollar PPV price tag.

In addition, even though Evans emerged victorious over Davis in what was a lackluster, yet workmanlike effort, the fighter nicknamed ' Sugah ' did very little to impress the casual fans. Or to dispel the general consensus among knowledgeable mma fans that he is not nearly at the level of Jon Jones.

And additionally, that ' Sugah ' will be in for a world of trouble when he faces the current champion named 'Bones' in the main-event of UFC 145; now rumored to take place in Atlanta, GA, and tentatively scheduled for April 21st.

The bookmakers—according to this posted website below—not unlike the fan majority, have also spoken loudly in favor of Champion Jones.

BestFightOdds.com

The fight between Jones and Evans—two former Team Greg Jackson training partners—has most-certainly been a long-time-coming, ..to say the least.

And the somewhat immature hype-fest surrounding the match-up—one which was instigated by Evans, due to a verbal promise supposedly uttered by Jones, where Bones vowed to never fight him—has also had a life of its own, almost.

The latest video, posted below, has Evans sounding a little more mature as he heads toward UFC 145 and what will undoubtedly be the biggest test of his career since May, 2009, at UFC 98, where he was thoroughly annihilated by life-long karate-practitioner and black-belt master, Lyoto Machida.

Stay tuned.
